The 2024 movie Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, directed by Tim Burton, is a sequel to the 1988 cult classic Beetlejuice. The story picks up decades later with the Deetz family returning to their old home in Winter River, Connecticut, after a tragic family event. Lydia Deetz, portrayed by Winona Ryder, is now a mother to a rebellious teenage daughter named Astrid, played by Jenna Ortega.
Astrid discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic, accidentally opening a portal to the Afterlife. This leads to the return of Beetlejuice, played by Michael Keaton, who brings his chaotic antics back to both the living and the dead realms. The film explores the ensuing mayhem as Beetlejuice's name is inevitably called three times.
The cast includes returning actors Catherine O'Hara as Delia Deetz and new additions such as Monica Bellucci, Justin Theroux, and Willem Dafoe. The film promises to blend Burton's signature dark humor with a fresh storyline that respects the original's legacy while introducing new elements and characters.
